Peace Through Travel LLC and Women Travel for Peace seek an outstanding student to support us as we grow in the exciting sustainable travel and social tourism industry. The Intern will assist web staff in researching and compiling a database of responsible travel projects and women’s community projects around the world. S/he will be responsible for extensive online research and compilation of this information, as well as communication with these projects.
This is an excellent learning opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate
individual studying sustainable tourism, women’s studies or computer science.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have completed at least two years of college
- Have a strong interest in sustainable travel and social tourism
- Have proven research skills, particularly online
- Have proven communication skills, both oral and written
- Have a strong work ethic
- Be comfortable and gracious with cross-cultural communication
- Be detail-oriented
- Be well organized
- Be a self-starter with proven ability to work independently
- Be highly reliable.
- Computer skills preferred (Microsoft Office and html)
The selected Intern will:
- Gain excellent experience in sustainable travel and social tourism
- Interact with responsible travel professionals in the US and abroad
- Help responsible travel projects grow globally
- Enhance his/her cross-cultural communication skills
